View Full Version : Registry Icon Changed

Yesterday I noticed that the Icon for the Registry Backup Files were changed
to a Generic Document Icon.
Could someone please tell me how to reverse this condition?
If irreversible, does it have any affect on my ME/OS?
Thanks.

If we are to help you, please tell us to what registry backup files you are
refering, where they are located (what is the path?), and if the file/s have
a property sheet describing the associated icon.

Are these files created by the OS, or scanreg, or those manually crated by
you?

Hi Jack, I exported the Registry, which is a backup of the
files in the Registry.

What is the extension on the backup?
You indicate in a later post that you have exported so you may have
chosen the default of .reg for the file. Please confirm.
(An export is good to have but it is not a suitable backup)

Have you checked in Explorer-Tools-Folder Options-Files Types to see
if the icon for that file type has really changed?

Hi, when I run Regedit it creates a file *.reg.
The icon for this file is not the registry icon.

What happens when you change it in File Types?
