Hi! I'm trying to connect my labtop hard drive (with xp) to a desktop with
Me. I have all the tools and all is correctly connected (not 100% sure on the
"slave" setting but think its right). At startup the pc descovers the other
drive, and boots WinMe. However, I cant find/access the other hard drive. It
isnt assigned a "station letter". The hard drive is present in the system as
IDE disk type 002..., but I cannot assign a letter to it( the area is grey).
I have tried to make it a moveable disk(I admit not knowing what this
means...eh), and this works. But I cannot access the drive as I have to
format it...??? The reason I want to connect the other hard drive is to
backup my files as the hard drive is **cked, again. Anyone now what to do? I
appreciate any help.

What is the filing system used by the XP drive? FAT16 or NTFS? Win Me,
in common with all Win 9x operating systems is unable to access drives if
those drives are formatted using the NTFS filing system.

Hm, yes I think it is NTFS. I guess I'll find a computer with XP. Thank you!
