The file mfc42.dll is incorrectly installed in the Windows folder and should be

deleted. Umm, don't I need this, and if so, which folder
should it be in? I'm trying to run LOTR return of the king
game with driect x 9, but can't get it to go!!

It should be in the Windows\System folder. If you have multiple copies of
this file it can cause really odd problems.
