Hi guys...this is my situation. My 16 yr old daughter does not believe in
turning off her PC when not in use. She will leave it on for hrs. I've
tried punishing her but it will only last a week or two and then it back to
the same old thing. She is PC savy, so using the power manager wont do any
good cuz she will only change the settings back. Is there anyway I can set
the PC, possibly in the bios or anywhere , in which if the PC is running
idle for 20-30 min it will automatically shut itself off?? Yesterday I
found my little girl asleep TV on along with the PC with the monitor on
sleep mode. This wasting of electricty is driving me up the wall. Is there
a way to put a password on the power manager so that the settings cant be
changed?? Any suggestions is always appreciated.

Thanks Dave

I am pretty sure the Professional Version will do as you ask. Although, if the
concern is the financial impact of leaving the PC on, a $30 program probably
isn't the answer, since it would probably take you a couple years to recoup the
expense. Just program the system to go to standby after 30 minutes and you will
accomplish about the same thing. Be sure the system is set to turn off the
monitor.
