Everytime I turn on the computer, it wants me to log onto Windows. I always
have to cancel out of it. How can I rid that from happening???

thanks for help!!

You can right click on the Network Neighborhood icon and change your type of
logon from there. Near the botton, you see Primary Window Logon. From the
drop-down box, choose Windows Logon. That should do it. You may need to
restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Sorry, I missed an important detail. After right clicking on Network
Neighborhood, choose Properties...Then go to the drop-down box and choose
Windows Logon. Sorry about the omission of that detail in the first post.

Do you use a tweaking program, like Tweaking Toolbox? Maybe there is a
program on your system which makes sure that you have to log on? The only
way I know how to remove the logon screen is the way I described, but then
again, I'm no expert! Maybe someone else here can help out more.

Dont`t cancel it and don`t enter a password, just put a user name in and and
click logon and it won`t reappear.

I think I may have stumbled across a solution for you! Try these instructions.

1. Right-click on the Network Neighborhood icon and select Properties
2. On the Configuration tab, select Windows Logon in the Primary Network
Logon box
3. When Windows prompts you to restart your computer, click No
4. Click the Start button, point to Settings, then select Control Panel
5. Double-click the Passwords icon
6. On the Change Passwords tab, click the Change Windows Password button,
click OK, then set a blank password

Don't cancel. Give it a name and blank password.
