I have a big problem with windows 98 installation....here
the deal...i purchased a used laptop online with windows
98 installed...the laptop came and worked fine until all
of a sudden, it would not boot...after much struggle, i
was told to reformat the hard disk...so now i have a
reformated hard disk with no operating system...all i
have is the cover to the "getting start" booklet, and
thereas i have only my product key...i need a legal
solution to this issue and i can not find a single way to
talk to microsoft without needing a product key or being
told to talk to the OEM originator. ANYONE with ANY help
on this matter, please help me! Thanks so much in advance!

Probably your best option is to contact the manufacturer of your
Notebook, they should be able to let you have a restore CD that is
best suited to your system.
