Windows will not start up, Instead receive an explorer message Explorer.exe
0167:0040f31 explorer caused an invalid page fault. The drop down
information lists registers with letter starting with eax, ebx, ecx, edx...
etc.
This happened after I went into the file folders and deleted some old files.
I think I deleted something useful by mistake. Can I fix this. All the
diagnostics suggested in the help menue failed. Two of the messaged I
received while troubleshooting said, "windows system dax files not found" and
"msdos.sys file not found". If I need to re-install the windows 98 cd
rom--how do I get it into the system. Every time I try to insert it into the
drive, I get nothing. Any thoughts? Thanks

I just had to re-install Office 2000 for a similar situation. I found I
could access the CD through add/remove programs. Even gave me three
options, one of which was "repair." My computer/Control
Panel/add/remove/Install. Good luck. Post if it works.
