I need to re-install windows
I do not have the booklet with the product key number

Where would I look in Windows for the product key before I
reinstall?

If Win98 is still running, get it from the Registry with Regedit.exe
The key is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion
The value is ProductKey
