OUT OF MEMORY WHEN CUT COPY OR PASTE on 98 se, system locks up, et

Pls advise what can be done to fix: example: ms works open, try copy - paste
info, try to paste into another document, and error message "out of memory".
Running W 98se on an older IBM Aptiva, 256 RAM, K-6 processor.
I am about ready to reformat disk and reinstall OS and programs. Spyware
checked. any ideas?? This sucks cause i gave this computer to neighbor and
it is a pain in the butt. He doesn't have alot of stuff on it, appx 50% free
system resources.. ??... VERY SLOW frequent crashes but when it works she
works good!!!!!!

You can search the MS Knowledge Base. I did a quick search. You didn't
say what version of Works you're using but I doubt it's 3 which is what
this article addresses:

The only problems I have heard of with Works is related to printer drivers,
too many fonts, or spell checking in the background. I don't know if any of
that would be related to your problem.
