The icons in my toolbar on the left are messed up. In order to connect to
"Launch Internet Explorer Browser" I have to click on the Music Match icon.
To connect to Windows Media Player, I have to click on the envelope to
Outlook Express. Even some of the icons in my Start menu are jacked up. I
tried deleting the shelliconcache, and tried refreshing but to no avail. I
am using Windows ME.

Get a copy of the free app, TweakUI ver 1.33 for Me. It has a tab that
contains an option to Rebuild and Repair icons.....should do the trick.
The following info should be noted when using this app:

TweakUI 1.33

TweakUI is a compressed, self extracting archive at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsme/guide/tweakui.exe
Download to a folder with a short name (e.g. C:\Tweak), run to extract
components, right click on tweakui.inf and then install, close the help
window that comes up to allow install to finish. C:\Tweak can now be
deleted and TweakUI accessed via the Control Panel.

Do *not* use its Desktop page and change the 'show first on Desktop'
pane from My Documents. Doing so causes trouble. Also do not uncheck
'Search Results' on that page - the icon will not be on the desktop
anyway, but unchecking stops Search from working.

And do not use TweakUI to "Hide Control Panel", or you will need

You used the Hide Control Panel option in TweakUI.

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT

Navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explore
r

Look in the right pane for a value called NoControlPanel Right click
the NoControlPanel entry and select Delete.

You may need to log off/back on or reboot to make the change take effect.

Unable to Start Control Panel Tools After You Use TweakUI to Disable "Show
Control Panel"

See MS KB Q274857 "No Search Results Are Returned After You Disable Search
Results" (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q274/8/47.ASP).
Note:
1) Do *not* change the first icon from "My Documents" on the Desktop tab
2) Do *not* uncheck: Search Results on the Desktop tab
3) Do *not* hide the Tweak UI icon on the Control Panel tab
4) Do *not* uncheck: Show Control Panel on Start Menu on the IE tab
5) Do *not* uncheck: Shell enhancements on the IE tab
6) To move "My Documents" folder, right-click on the Folder, and click
Properties.
