View Full Version : Save password greyed out in OE

Just upgraded a Win 98 SE computer today to IE 6.0 and OE 6.0. Now when you
open Outlook Express, it asks for the password and the save password box is
greyed out. I've Googled all over and found fixes for Windows 2000 and XP,
but nothing for Windows 98. Seems like I had this happen before a long time
ago and it involved deleting a subkey in the registry. Unfortunately if I
saved the documentation on it, I can't find it.
Can anyone help me out? I'll post this in the OE group too, but I usually
have better luck here... :-)

Check this Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Network\Real Mode Net

The value "Autologon" should be set to (hex) 01 00 00 00 00

Reboot if modify it.

If you must post the same message to several newsgroups, please *crosspost*
one (1) message to them all, Menno.
