everytime I start my computer I get an error messege
telling me that my computer will shut down in 59 seconds.
I reformatted, replaced the harddrive and replaced the
RAM and still, the same problem! Aaaaaaaargh!! Can anyone
help me???

And does it then shut down after 59 seconds?

If so, how did you manage to re-install WinMe after you re-formatted?

What happens if you boot with the WinMe Startup (Floppy) Disk? Do you still
get the 59 second warning in Real Mode DOS

I'm not really sure I'm not home right now so I'll have
to get back to you tomorrow

>This can occur if you have a pirated copy of WinMe or
you've an OEM CD. Make sure that your CD is from MS not a
pirated one.

Wrong - you're confusing a number of things, none of which apply to Win ME
1) Product Activation in XP - which is where pirate susceptibility to worm
infections comes in, since it's necessary to hack the activation to access
the patches to prevent infection
2) The Blaster/Nachi worms - which don't affect ME
3) 'pirated' Windows CD's in ME are identical to those legally available
from legitimate sources (at least as far as the code on them goes) -- unlike
most pirate copies of XP, which derive from copies of XP which are supposed
only to be used within large corporations.
