View Full Version : Outlook Express Frustration

I can no longer open my Address Book in Outlook Express!
I get messages:
" Unable to open the address book"
"The Address Book may not be installed properly".
Since this "Frustration" I have downloaded to my hard drive Eplorer 6 with
Outlook Express - no luck.
I have also opened Outlook Express and clicked on Tools/Options/General Tab
and clicked on "Make Default". This, too, to no avail.
Further, from the RunLine, I have clicked on Start/Settings/Control
Panel/Double-Clicked the Internet Options Icon/Programs Tab and under Inter
Net Programs and selected Outlook Express/Apply/OK. All this to no avail.
Alss, I have: Start/Run and typed in "drive:\program files/outlook
express\msimn.exe"/reg - I then get a message that this does not exist.
I have also shut down my computer and restarted to insure all these settings
take effect.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Ever since I moved up to Win98SE, I've used Netscape
for my mail. Since Outlook Express seems to be a
favored target of virus attacks, I wouldn't touch it
with a ten-foot pole. Maybe I got conditioned in WWII
when my ten-year old version was evacuated from London;
not being in the target area greatly reduces your
chances of being hit. :)

Apples & oranges:

Are you using the version of Netscape that was released in 1998 and never
updated? I don't think so. OE6-SP1, fully updated, is light-years ahead of
OE5.0 (which installs with Win98SE) when it comes to security, Anthony, and
just as secure IMO as the most recent version of Netscape mail.
