Hi,
I have been using Adaware 6 quite successfully for some time, regularly
downloading the updates, and screening my pc whenever I turn it on.

However, this morning when I clicked on the icon I received the error
message - "Warning - reference file not found or corrupted"
It then took me into the normal site and asked if I wanted to check for
updates.
The response was - " There is a later version of the reference file - would
you like to down load now"
After clicking yes it started to down load - got to 5%, and then the green
arrow came on and said click to finish.
After I did this, I moved to the next step to run the program - and got the
same error message again.
I would appreciate any advice thanks
Trevor

I suggest you remove Ad-Aware 6 and install Ad-Aware SE, the latest version.
Lavasoft has announced they are ending updates for Ad-Aware 6, making the resolution
of your problem moot.

Me too. They don't know the first thing about software management
and (potential) customer relationship management.

If you want to stay with AD-Aware, you need to uninstall version 6
and then download and install the SE version.

Been there, done that. Check this -
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showforum=100
Remove (add/remove programs) AdAware 6.0 and dload/install the free SE
personal version.
Just did this the other day and all is well. (Except perhaps the next 4
years.) KeithS
