View Full Version : computer stuck in safe mode

June 3rd 04, 06:02 AM
Help! I tried to download a free mahjong trial game
and it told me to restart my computer. when I did
the screen prompted me to restart in safe mode which
I did,now I can't get it out of safe mode. I went through
the instructions in the help menu(it tells me to restart
my computer while holding down either the cntl. or f8 key).
I tried this several times to no avail. All my icons are
now huge and my desktop looks like a little kids computer.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!

> HTH,
I had a friend with that problem a few months ago. I tried some of
the hints in the above articles, but they didn't help. Then I
noticed that the system clock was wrong by several days. I set it to
the right time and the machine rebooted correctly! It seems they had
some accounting software that messed around like this with the clock
and caused safe-mode booting. Now they know how to cure that problem
when it occurs again.
