Thankd Jeff,

I have contacted various places including microsoft
direct, they say windows 98 is obsolete and cannot be
replaced, i have to upgrade to another operating system.

The laptop i have is out of date and there is no point
upgrading to another OS, does anyone have a link to let me
download it or send via email?

As I said before, i still have the original book and
product key.

Please help.

AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

Cheers

MS can replace retail versions (full or upgrade) of Windows 98 but *not* OEM
versions (says on the CD: to be distributed with a new PC, or words to that
effect) or restore CDs like HP and Compaq issued. US and Canadian customers
can order a retail replacement CD for a fee by calling: 800-360-7561

No, a download is not possible. I would suggest that you have the UK office
contact the Microsoft Order Desk for Supplemental Parts at 1-800-360-7561
(or whatever works from the UK). Perhaps the US office has not shared this
replacement deal with the UK office or maybe it is not available in the UK.
Tell them that this replacement information is being put out on the MS
newsgroups by a MS MVP.
