I keep getting the error: device driver not found:
mscd001-along with no valid cdrom device drivers selected.
I have downloaded a win98 bootdisk and I have partitioned
and reformatted my hard drive. When I boot and choose to
boot with cdrom support the computer does not see my cdrom
drive and thus loads no drivers. I am about to pull my
hair out!!!!!! I have been trying everything for nearly a
week each night and have had no success. I have to have
the cdrom to install win98se. Can anyone help me. I would
appreciate the help. Thanks, Bill (Alabamabubba)

For information on installing W98, go to:
http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/w98_restore.html
Make a boot disk with the directions I have in my installation instructions.
I also include directions on how to alter the boot disk to include specific
CDRom drivers if needed.

Your cdrom drivers are NOT on your boot(startup) disk. I
have been there many times. OAKcdrom.sys is the one
win98se puts on the book disk made on win98se machine. The
drivers are generic and wont run on ALL cdroms. Get name
of your cdrom, go to google and find drivers, put on your
start up disk. Reboot/Reboot. GOOD Luck

You don't have your cdrom drivers on your boot disk. Go
to google and search your cdrom's manuf and serial nr of
cd rom and get drivers. Put them on your start up disk.
windows puts cdrom drivers on the startup disk, but they
don't work for all cdrom drives.
