I'm trying to install Windows 98SE on a Compaq Presario
4504. During the setup process I get the following
message:
C:\WINDOWS\system\vmm32.vxd: Missing/Unable To Load
and the process halts. Anyone know how to resolve this?
I've attempted setup 3 times and get the same result each
time.

Are you attempting to install over the top of an existing system or are you
installing to a blank partition?

Try deleting or renaming the "c:\windows\system\vmm32" directory.
Then run setup again.
