Apparently you need Win2000 or WinXP to copy music to an
iPod. I assume you downloading from apple.com

iTunes Catalog is written especially for Mac OS X.
It requires Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar,
and also works with Mac OS X 10.3 Panther.
iTunes Catalog works with iTunes version 3.0 or later.
Version 4.5 or later is required for all features to work
