I am working on a Japanese language W98 computer. The
backslash key ( \ ) was apparantly setup as a hotkey for
the yen sign and I am having no luck trying to use the
actual \ sign. I am trying to install new hardware and
need the \ key to specify the file address for the new
driver. The \ key is listed in MS Word's set of symbols,
but when I cut and paste it into the file address prompt,
it converts back to the yen sign. Any thoughts?

Try Alt-092 (hold down Alt key, press 092 in numeric pad.)

The Alt-092 did not work on the Japanese W98 (thanks
anyways). Does anyone know how to get back default
settings for keys programmed as hot keys?
