I have Win98SE. No windows add-ons except for Windows and
IE6 updates and patches. Been noticing a little pause when
opening files and a few second pause with hourglass when
booting up at the desktop. Was trying to figure out what
changed because this just started about two weeks ago.
Then I remembered I put a three page word document in to
My Briefcase. I have never used My Briefcase until then.
It just sat there on the desktop. So as a test I moved the
word document to a new folder out of My Briefcase. Which
left it empty. Guess what...no pause.
Any explanations for this?

Hmmnnn. I noticed the same thing on my daughter's W98SE system. Thanks for
the heads-up. I'll take a look at her My Briefcase.

Interesting. But that folder has a special use, some kind of file
coordinator between computers. I deleted mine, not knowing precisely
what it would mean to put stuff in there.
