Please help.

Running win98 os on gateway 866 mhz system. after
rebooting i get the following message, "no connection to
the internet is currently available. to view internet
content that has been saved on your computer, click work
offline.

click try again to attempt to connect.

at the bottom of the dialog box, shows two buttons, work
offline or try again.

can someone tell me what this is and how to stop it from
popping up?

i've run adaware and spybot and found no problem. also my
symantec antivirus is up to date.

any help will be appreciated.

Look at these for some clues.

Error Messages if Wsock32.dll File Is Damaged or Missing
The web page you requested is not available offline.

I.E. starts and stays offline / I.E. offline message when using DSL/Cable
