I'm trying to install a lexar usb jumpdrive onto a windows
98 machine but when i try to load the drivers it doesn't
recognise them in the folder that i point it to, it says
unable to locate driver. Anybody else experienced a
similar problem. Any help would be great.

Regards

Stuart

The folder the drivers are in, are the drivers in a .zip
file? Or is there an setup.exe file or someother way you
can install it? If the drivers are compressed or packaged
you'll need to uncompress them.

If there is no files ending in an .inf extension then they
are probably packaged. What does the manual say?

The folder i'm pointing it to contains the .inf file but
it just doesn't seem to want to use it. There's no setup
file and even the guys at lexar don't know why it won't
work.

You got me totally stumped. Sounds like Lexar didn't do a
great job putting their drivers together. Maybe Windows is
looking for the wrong class of drivers... -mutter mutter-
so you followed all the instructions and it doesn't work?
Apparently aren't you supposed to install the drivers from
the manufacturer using a setup utility before you first
use a flash disk on Windows 98?

>Hi stuart,

I am also looking for help with plugging my mp3 player into
my usb port on my windows 98 computer. I never had
problems plugging it into and running on Windows ME.
I have now switched to windows 98 and I plugged it in and
added drivers and my computer still does not show that an
external drive exists.
I can't find any drivers for my tupe of mp3 player which is
a Venturer and didn't come with any software. Help!!!
