I am using a desktop that runs ME as the host and a laptop that runs XP as a
client. I have misplaced my router so I am connecting the 2 machines using
a crossover cable. I am able to share files in between each computer just
not the internet. I am using a cable modem via USB connected to me desktop
running ME. I have no problems with the internet on the desktop. Just no
internet on the Laptop, the XP machine. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. You can email me at .

I've written some web pages that should help you get everything
working.

Enable Internet Connection Sharing on the ME computer's USB cable
modem connection, as shown here:

ICS Installation [WinMe]
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/ics/icsmeinstall.htm

Configure the ME machine as an ICS client, as shown here:

XP ICS - Client Setup Using the Network Setup Wizard

Don't run XP's Network Setup Wizard on ME, even if it tells you to.
