I've recently switched from a lifetime of 56k to wireless
broadband. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with
this particular problem, but the mere matter of 2 days
between on thing and the other is uncanny.
Anyway, a few days after the installers put in my wireless
broadband, my printer (HP DeskJet 612C) stopped working
properly.
Every time it would go to print I would get a Spool32.exe
error that wouldn't go away unless I clicked it a dozen
times.
So I checked to see if I had the latest drivers and I did.
Next I decided that since scan disk had shown up no
problems, that I'd uninstall the printer and re-install it.
Now, the installation software says that there are no LPT
ports found! I know for a fact that all the cables are
securely plugged in, and I know that I have a LPT1 port.
I've had no problems at all with this printer or printer
ports up until just recently.
What should I do? Does this sound like a problem connected
with whatever they installed for my broadband? Could I
have downloaded a virus that is blocking the printer from
receiving information? I really need this printer for my
work, so any help would be really great!
Thanks so much,
Shannon
