When I shut down Windows 98, I get the blue screen with
the following error:

"A Fatal Exception 0E has occured at 0028:C02A97AB in VXD
VWIN32(05)+000012D0. The Current application will be
terminated"

When I press any key to continue, the system may shut
down normally, it may hang at the windows 98 screen that
tells me "windows is shutting down" or I may get an error
that an the application is still running (doesn't tell me
which application) with a choice to wait, end task or
cancel.

Is there anything I can do or does this spell the end for
my old computer?

Thanks

Joe Rice

Thanks or Good Luck,
There may be humor in this post, and,
Naturally, you will not sue,
should things get worse after this,

If you search Google.com for "000012d0 you will find over 400 posts.

Your problem is at shutdown, so close some of the running processes before
you do you may be able to identify the culprit.
