View Full Version : Boot without floppy?

Can't get the floppy to work properly and need to make a
new start up disk for clean re-install of W98.
Device manager says it's working ok but when I try to
read or write from/to it, it says part of file may be
missing. Does that mean the driver?
It says it has a driver installed?
I'm too thick to understand previous answer to Misha.
PLEASE HELP.

1. You can download a booting floppy from www.bootdisk.com
2. If you have a bootable CD, you can boot from it (first
resetting the BIOS to enable this.)
3. Drivers are for "devices," which may be either hardware
are software: so we do not know which device lacks a driiver.
4. Floppy drives die and must be replaced occasionally:
but they are cheap and the connections easy to make.
