Computer assemble

I would like to assemble a desktop computer so please kindly help me.

My brother gave me a Compaq Presario 4620, Pentium II 266Mhz and 32 MB RAM.
It has no hard disk and many hardwire are missing, such as sound card and
VDO card.

I would like to put the missing hardwires and assembled this computer.
Please tell me what operating system should be more appropriate for this
Motherboard and CPU and for the missing hardware what should I put for best
performance?

Please help me.

Go to your local bookstore and pick up "Computers for Dummies" or similar. I
doubt if many people are willing to type many pages of instructions just
because you asked when there are many resources available at the bookstore.

You could also take a class at your local community college.
