camcorder, IEEE 1394 FIREWIRE 6-4 PIN CABLE &pc firewire card

I have a 1.8M IEEE 1394 FIREWIRE 6-4 PIN CABLE NR CA007,
if i install a pc firewire card, will i be able to copy
and play movie from my mini dv camcorder on computer and
then can copy it to CD-RW.
will i need some other thing as well. do i need some
specific pc firewire card? thanks a lot for help.

Does the manufacturer claim the card works with 98 or 98SE - which ever you
have.
