At one time, I had set up a "users" in Windows 98. I
have, since, abandoned that feature, having deleted all
names from user list. But when I boot up, the loading of
windows stops on a pop-up waiting for me to select
a "user" from the blank list, or click "cancel" to close
the user feature, before the rest of Windows 98 will
load. How can I disable this user feature?

Thanks,

Start with the link provided in this article:
How to Prevent a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me Logon Prompt at Startup
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q152104

*Note: If you have user profiles, this will not work as stated in the article and you
will have to perform the steps in the link provided in the article for user profiles.
