I have a pc running 2000 and a laptop running ME in the
same house. They're both connected to the internet through
a router. What I would like to do is be able to access the
pc (2000)harddrive from the laptop(ME)and vice versa.

I tried to do this by networking both computers, but I ran
into problems with ME. I was able to set up the
pc(2000)and pinged the pc, successfully, from the laptop(ME).

The problem is that I am unable to even set up the
laptop(ME)to share files with the pc. Is what I am trying
to do possible by simply using the networking/sharing
feature, or I am barking up the wrong tree? Any assistance
will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Shola, I'm having the same problems with my windows millennium computer,
ive tried the micro$oft helpdesk, but they wouldnt help me for any
less than €50 - beeing payed by creditcard -. No thanks.
Anyway, if you try just to access //Server or //IP (without sharename),
do you get a password prompt for the internal process communication (IPC$)?

My network is connected via a cisco router, contains 6 systems:
- Windows Millennium @ Intel Celeron 466MHz >> TROUBLE SYSTEM
- Windows 2000 pro @ P4 2004MHz
- RedHat9 @ P4 2.4GHz (running Samba server)
- Windows 95 @ P1 133MHz (Laptop)
- Debian @ Pentium Pro 200MHz
- BeOS @ P4 2004MHz

No problems exist with any other communication on the network, between
all the other systems.
Communication from any othe system to SMB service at the WinME computer
are no problem,
Again, i ask anyone who reads this and knows a possible solution to help us,

I know it will help when making matching user accounts, but that is only
an option at the RedHat9 server.
I think the only problem here is, how do i log on to the Win2kPro system
using a diffrent username than the one the person signed on is using???
If noone knows, then could anyone tell me where to put my logon script
so the command "NET LOGON" could be used?

Thanks in advance,
Romenski
