Hi I am not that swift when It comes to all this computer
stuff, but I would like to take an old gateway PC I have
and re-format the dard drive to re- install the win 98
first eddition CD that I got with the computer many moons
ago. Can I somehow just take everything that is on this
hard drive off and start it over from scratch. I would
like to get it set for my grandson. I think it would make
a great first computer for him, especialy since the
finances don't allow for a new computer for him.
Thank you for any advice.
:)
Shalom

bootup with a cd support floppy
and confirm that you can read your cdrom
if so...
the command to format the harddrive is format C:
once the drive is erased...log on to the cdrom drive
then type and enter setup
