I am running a Pentium III 1.4Ghz with 312megs of ram and am trying to
install a DVD drive onto my system. I have tried four different new drives
and they all do the same thing, can't boot into windows because of 2 blue
screens then a lockdown. The blue screen message I keep getting, no matter
what I do, is

Fatal exception error 06 0028:0000000B in VXD ___
called in 0028:C1890537 in VXD ___

then the next screen:

fatal exception error 0E 0177:00006630

this happened with every drive I have tried to install. I already have a cd
rom drive and a cd burner. I am replacing the cd rom drive with the dvd
burner. even trying to instal it alone on the secondary channel as the
master was to no avail. uninstalling and reinstalling all hardware drivers
and nothing. I dont understand it and cant figure it out. I have disabled
everything I can think of. now I will say this, the drives do work, I can
read disks in dos. just cant ever boot to windows with the drive connected
to even begin to fix this in the device manager. any ideas and or
suggestions would be greatly appreicated. i am going to take this last one
back tomorrow and hopefully try to resolve this so that I may purchase one
soon. again, thanx
