You should give more details of how you deleted them, what program you
used etc. Would you ask a question, "How do win a war?" without
giving more details?

Usually I wait for the details, but in this case I'll reply a bit.

There may be someway in the video software you used to delete the
file, if you did. I don't know about such programs.

In some cases, especially emails and news articles, it may depend on
how you deleted them, but if they were large files or you deleted them
with the delete button while in Windows Explorer or an equivalent --
in other words, if they were individual files instead of segments of a
very large file -- you may be able to retreive them by using Norton
Unerase or a similar program by any other vendor. It may be called
Undelete, but before paying for such a thing, make sure it Undeletes
files and not something else.

You don't need a recent version. Any version for win98** will work.
And maybe even any version for Dos5 or 6, although you will lose your
long file name, if you used more than 8.3, and will have to rename it
later using win98** or above. **or maybe win95 too.

BTW, first, you should STOP using the partition in which the files
reside. Every time you update any file in that partition, there is a
chance that the new copy will overlay part of your video file. This
is I think even more true if your partition is is 70 or 80% full, or
even less than that if you have not compacted your partition for a
long time. It's almost certainly going to happen if your partition is
over 95% full.

Even if you think you are not uptdating any files, you may be, I
believe. Whenever you click on an icon, the icon file gets updated.
It's a small file, but they might put the new copy on top of part of
your video file. There are also logs that get updated automatically,
and I'm sure other files as well.

If these files reside on the C: partition, you should get a copy of
the utility you need on CD or floppy disk. You should boot with your
emergency disk and then run the utility from the CD or floppy.
