Hi,

Windows ME Taskbar is twice as wide as normal.

Can anyone please advise how to get it back to normal width. Right click in
a spare area on the taskbar does not work.

Thanks in advance

If only recently happened (past couple of days or so) the easiest way is to
run System Restore and roll-back to the last time that the Taskbar looked
'normal'

Mart,

Many thanks. I tried this but a system restore point had never been created.

In fact the computer is my cousin's who was being visited by her nieces from
America and they fiddled around with it !!

OK, but only if the problem has happened in the pat 5 days or so, the next
'trick' is to run scanreg /restore

Start | Run and in the 'Open' box, type "scanreg /restore" (no quotes and
note the space
between the g and /) then press Enter.

Follow the screen prompts and when asked, select the LAST 'good' date before
you had this problems, continuing with the instructions.

Failing that, try 'unlocking' the Taskbar and see if you can drag the bar
back into shape (BTW - I guess that problem is at the left-hand end of the
bar which is really the Quick Launch area. The other end (clock end) is
called the System Tray)

Hi Mart,

Many thanks for your suggestion. My cousin has tried it but unfortunately it
did not work.

She says she can live with it until her Grandchildren next vist when she
will hang them out to dry !!

Thanks again
