Since installing a new NVidia card, unless I turn the
hardware accelerator "off" my computerr completely
freezes within minutes. To correct this I have to switch
off, and turn the accelerator off thus losing colour and
graphics definition. I have tried downloading new drivers
all to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreceiated.

try this......
Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL Display Adapters
Remove ALL Monitors
Reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall the required drivers -
hopefully curing your problem.
If not, post back, and we'll work on it.
